Welcome back!! I’m so excited to share our first project post with you today!! I started the week right after I posted this weeks concept post, and it went in an interesting direction! Directly following writing my short concept post, I got on Pinterest to look for some inspiration. Here is a link to my Pinterest! There, you can find my inspiration boards, as well as posts that I have made about my own projects!

I started with Ear Warmers.

Ear Warmers!

I ended up making three ear warmers this week, none with the Sentro! I decided that I wanted to make some pretty twist headbands, and found a pretty pattern to follow. With that in mind, I decided to make two versions of this ear warmer pattern.

On Pinterest, it is listed as “Easy 1 Hour Headband with Twist”, but I like to call it a Bumpy Ear Warmer. I decided that I should probably work with cotton yarn, as cotton is warm, breathable and versatile. This ear warmer could easily be used as a headband in the warmer months too, it doesn’t have to just be winter head wear!

I used Lily Sugar n Cream cotton yarn in the colors Black and White to make these ear warmers, and they came out wonderfully! The only small issue is that they aren’t very stretchy, so they need to fit your head perfectly, which could be a small issue unless you know how to properly measure your head, or you’re making one for yourself. Here is a link to the Lily Sugar n Cream Yarn I used: https://amzn.to/4hoIm3Z. They are actually on sale right at the moment too!

Here they are!!

From the pattern I made a white version…

and a black version! I think they both look absolutely amazing! It was a very nice pattern to follow, and they were pretty quick too! I was crocheting while also entertaining my son and watching a show with Hunter, and I finished the white one and about 80% of the black one before I went to bed that night! These ear warmers are for sale on my shop here.

The next day, I finished up the black ear warmer early and thought about the kinds of ear warmers I might actually want if its cold out. The cotton ones are nice, but it may take a bit longer to warm up with the cotton ones instead of the one that I made next!

I make scrunchies using about the softest and warmest yarn I’ve ever come across: Velvet yarn! Specifically, I use Juicy Couture Velvet yarn from JOANN (which may be going bankrupt but that’s something I’m choosing not to worry about right now).

I was so excited to get started with this ear warmer that I decided to take it on the road with me on a day I was technically supposed to take off. Time for another twist ear warmer — if you can’t tell I like how twist ear warmers look. I took the approach this time that I wanted something soft and warm to cover my ears. The starting chain was ruby red, or Dark Crimson, yarn and chained until it went all the way around my head, and then I did a few rows of red and swapped to black. It was surprisingly easy and it looks great!

These are also for sale here! Make sure to check my shop often for new items.

Beanies and Bunny Ears!!

I was less successful in this department. In my concept post, I said that one of the things I wanted to do this week was play around with my Sentro. Well, I played around and ended up pissed off, so I gave up on that pretty quick. One of these days, I will put the time in to figure out the Sentro but today is not that day.

I also really want to learn to knit and I’ve been eyeing these needles on Amazon, but I don’t want to link them until I try them, so eventually!!

Once I decided that I was done trying to figure out the Sentro for the week, I began to work on a crochet beanie. Plans to work on two different beanies/hats came up, but only one came to fruition and then some inspiration struck. I started to work on a ribbed beanie and decided I wanted to add something more to it. I was able to finish the beanie up yesterday, and started up on what I wanted to add to it that same day.

Pattern plans came up, and I have plans to add bunny ears to this beanie, and from that came an idea to develop my own pattern for the beanie and ears, so if you crochet, keep an eye out for that!!

Pattern Notes and plans

Here is the finished beanie without the ears, I am still developing the ears so keep an eye on my Facebook and Instagram for when I finish that up!! This hat is also available for purchase here!

The other item I was going to make was cat ear beanies, and I will be making and posting those when I have some free time too! These don’t just have to be winter head wear.

Overall, this week was alright! I made four finished items, although I feel as though I could have made more, is pretty good!! I wish I had spent a little bit more time on my projects this week, but four is pretty okay!! We’re coming up on a large project week, so make sure to look for my next concept post on Thursday!!
